Last December, our school was filled with excitement, music and joy thanks to the different Christmas activities prepared by our students, who shared very special moments with their families. On December 12th, our traditional Christmas performance took place, with the participation of students from Early Years (3-, 4- and 5-year-olds), as well as Year 1 and Year 2. Meanwhile, our youngest students, the Early Years 2-year-olds, enjoyed a lovely Christmas workshop on December 10th and 11th.Early Years 3-year-olds: a story full of magicThe 3-year-old students took us on a magical journey through Christmas with a beautiful story linked to their latest unit of inquiry. Through songs and dances, they brought to life a tale that began with the following words:“Welcome everyone to the magic of Christmas! Today, we are going to tell you a very special story, full of love, joy, and, above all, gifts that come from the heart…”Santa Claus’s workshop, the elves, the reindeer and the excitement of children all around the world were the main characters of this heartwarming performance.Early Years 4-year-olds: emotions at ChristmasThe 4-year-old students, connected to their unit of inquiry about emotions, became little monster doctors inspired by the story The Colour Monster. Through acting and dancing, they shared advice on how to manage emotions during the Christmas season, showing great expressive and artistic skills.Early Years 5-year-olds: rhythm and creativityThe 5-year-old students, the oldest in Early Years, delighted the audience by dancing to well-known Christmas hits. Their performance ended with a moving Christmas acrostic using the word Christmas, marking a special milestone at the end of their Early Years stage.Primary: a musical journey around the worldStudents from Year 1 and Year 2 joined together to perform the Christmas musical “Children of the World”. In this story, the Angel Gabriel sends six Christmas angels to different countries around the world to discover how Christmas is celebrated in other cultures. In a celestial contest, the angels travel to Poland, China, Australia, Malawi, the United States and Ireland, learning about local Christmas traditions and sharing a message of unity, diversity and global understanding.Early Years 2-year-olds: learning together as a familyThe 2-year-old students celebrated Christmas with a very special classroom activity, inviting their families to take part in a morning assembly, where they shared their daily routines, songs and learning moments. Families also enjoyed creating a Christmas craft together, strengthening the bond between school and home. These activities have been a wonderful reflection of the Christmas spirit that defines our school community.Laura O.
