Baccalaureate students at Internacional Aravaca develop life competencies through leadership roles, innovation projects and collaborative learning. The entrepreneurship curriculum starts in Grade 5 and has led to national recognition. Programmes like verdIA foster environmental responsibility, while soft skills are developed through oratory contests, debates and science challenges. Students also lead as House Captains and participate in social initiatives. These real-world learning experiences cultivate teamwork, empathy, resilience and creativity - competencies essential for personal and academic success in the 21st century.
The school promotes multilingualism from early childhood through a bilingual Spanish-English programme and the addition of French or German starting in Grade 5. Students are encouraged to use multiple languages daily and official exams (Cambridge, DELF, Goethe) validate their progress. With a staff representing over 35 nationalities and many international students, language learning is naturally immersive. Classroom practices like translanguaging and interactive digital tools support language development, while students express their voice through debates and presentations in different languages.
Baccalaureate students benefit from a wide array of international programmes under ISP, including MUN, TEDxYouth and virtual exchanges. In Baccalaureate, international opportunities expand with deeper academic engagement through the IB Diploma Programme, career-related experiences and university visits abroad. The IA MORE initiative bridges education and real-world professions. ISP ILOS continue to be offered, ensuring global collaboration. While national and international Baccalaureates differ in structure, both prepare students for success.
Students receive tailored career guidance from 3rd ESO, including aptitude tests, university visits and professional talks. The IA MORE programme offers hands-on work experience, career assessments and mentorship, helping them align choices with their strengths. Alumni success stories highlight its impact, with graduates thriving in global academic and professional fields.
The IB emphasises inquiry-based learning and international-mindedness, while the national Baccalaureate focuses on exam-based assessment. Both pathways include personalised university counselling, ensuring students access top institutions worldwide. This holistic approach equips them with clarity, skills and readiness for future success.
For 16 years IA has been fundamental for my academic and personal development. The closeness and constant support of the teachers have been key to my growth and to overcoming challenges throughout the course.
