Pupils from 6 to 12 create and build their knowledge with enthusiasm through our learner-centred educational approach, called Skyline project.
Students enrich the Spanish curriculum (LOMLOE) with the enquiry-based approach of the Primary Years Programme (English IB framework).
Foundational subjects are enhanced through Progentis, which increases reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary, and personal iPads.
Through physical activity, group projects and individual challenges, pupils secure self-awareness, empathy and cooperation.
Students are looked after by our Counselling Department, benefitting from specialists in speech or occupational therapy and psychopedagogy.
Starting from 5th Primary, pupils can take up the study of a third European language, choosing between French and German.
Pupils can join our Primary School any time of the year. Our Admissions team stands ready to accompany families through the application process.
In the Skyline project, pupils learn under the Spanish educational system, LOMLOE, applying the international methodology of the IB programme.
Love of reading and writing
During classes, students develop critical thinking, a strong command of language and the ability to express ideas clearly and successfully.
The course is based on engaging activities such as storytelling, debates, creative writing and reading comprehension exercises. Pupils gain proficiency in both Spanish and English through our bilingual approach, preparing for academic success and effective communication in a globalised world.
Understanding the past, changing the future
Students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them by studying Social Sciences. Through interactive lessons, research projects and hands-on activities, they explore history, geography and society, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
Our inquiry-based approach encourages students to analyse past and present events, understand cultural diversity and develop a sense of responsibility as global citizens. By connecting historical events with current issues, they gain valuable perspectives that prepare them to engage thoughtfully with their communities and the world.
Developing analytical minds
In Primary School, students focus on developing problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and numerical fluency. Using an interactive approach, they build a strong foundation in key mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, geometry, measurement and data analysis.
With engaging activities, real-life applications and collaborative learning, students think critically and approach challenges with confidence. They develop a love for mathematics, ensuring that each of them gains the skills needed to succeed in more advanced levels of learning.
Expressing like an artist
Children develop their fine motor skills, visual literacy and appreciation for different artistic styles and techniques in our Art classes.
Students get creative with various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture and digital art, using imagination, experimenting with new ideas and expressing their emotions in a constructive way.
By learning about art history and cultural influences, pupils are inspired with a deeper understanding of the role of art in society.

Students enjoy exploring living organisms (like plants, animals and humans), understanding ecosystems and learning about the Earth's physical features and natural resources.Children engage in active activities to observe and experiment, fostering curiosity about scientific concepts. They also study basic principles of physics, chemistry and the environment, with a focus on how these concepts relate to daily life. The subject encourages critical thinking and inquiry, helping them develop an appreciation for the natural world around them.

At Internacional Aravaca, Primary achievement is measured through IB PYP-aligned assessments, learning portfolios and student-led conferences. Digital tools track skill progression, while regular updates keep families informed. Primary students have won awards at DrawingED and South Summit KIDS for their innovative, real-world projects.
At Internacional Aravaca, Primary students cultivate leadership, teamwork and emotional intelligence through initiatives like the House Competition, where mixed-age teams collaborate under House Captains' guidance. Our pioneering entrepreneurship programme (introduced in Year 5) has won multiple DrawingED and South Summit KIDS awards, as students design real-world solutions. The curriculum embeds public speaking, debate and conflict resolution, equipping pupils with practical, future-ready skills from an early age.
At Internacional Aravaca, Primary students thrive in a bilingual Spanish-English environment, adding French or German from Year 5. They collaborate across grades in House Competitions, join international projects and build friendships worldwide. Bilingual immersion, cultural trips in Spain and multicultural experiences develop IB Primary Years Programme traits - communication, intercultural understanding and international mindedness.
The Primary Years Programme
The Spanish educational framework is enhanced by the PYP through an inquiry-based method that recognises the innate potential of students to inquire, both in school and in the wider world, to question, ask questions and theorise about themselves, others and the world around them.
Transdisciplinary education
Students explore six themes of global significance during Primary School:
These are addressed in different subjects, stimulating children to learn how to connect different ideas to a unique whole. They reflect on the importance of their learning to take meaningful action in their community and beyond.
At International Aravaca the Admissions department remains open throughout the year, looking forward to the opportunity to welcome students into our school community, regardless of the season.
Build foundations at International Aravaca through a programme that applies the IB methodology to the Spanish framework.
