On October 6th, the 4th grade students took a very special trip to the archaeological site of Arqueopinto, as part of our Unit of Inquiry “Where We Are in Place and Time.”During the visit, the students became real archaeologists for a day. Through hands-on activities and workshops, they were able to discover how people lived in Prehistoric times, learn about the tools and techniques used for cave art and hunting, and understand how discoveries from the past have influenced our way of life today. This experience helped them connect with our central idea: “The discoveries of the past determine humans’ way of living.” They also explored different forms of artistic expression and reflected on the earliest manifestations of art.Back in the classroom, we carried out a thinking routine to make their learning visible: students shared their ideas, questions, and discoveries about how past advances are still present today. Finally, they completed a reflection questionnaire to consolidate their learning. It was a day full of curiosity, exploration, and meaningful learning. Without a doubt, an experience that allowed us to travel through time and better understand our roots!4th Grade Teaching Team
