Over the past few weeks, the I3 students have been working on their fourth IB unit: “Sharing the Planet”, where they reflected on how our actions influence the environment and what we can do to take care of it.They learned how to sort waste correctly in the classroom, identifying the appropriate bins for paper, plastic, and organic waste. Through games and hands-on activities, they understood that not everything needs to be recycled, as many materials can be reused. They created sculptures which represented their favourite animals using recycled materials at home. They have also practiced reducing consumption by using both sides of the paper and sharing classroom resources. They have developed responsible daily routines, such as turning off the tap while washing their hands and switching off the lights when they were not needed, showing that small actions can lead to big changes. With the arrival of spring, they focused on taking care of plants and living things. Each child planted their own plant and looked after it carefully, learning that it needs water, light, and consistency to grow healthy and strong.Accompanied by the Eco-School superheroes, the students completed the unit with a very clear idea: even though they are small, their actions can make a big difference in taking care of our planet.Sara.
