During the week of January 26th to 30th, Primary students took part in a range of activities to mark the Day of Peace and Non-Violence at School, as part of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate.Through their tutorial sessions, each grade explored the concept of peace using one of the PYP Key Concepts, promoting reflection, critical thinking and creative expression. The activities resulted in a series of murals that formed a shared exhibition in the school hall, visited by all students.Peace was explored from different perspectives: what it is (Form), what it is for (Function), why it exists or breaks down (Causation), how it changes over time (Change), how it connects us (Connection), how it can be understood differently (Perspective) and what actions we can take to maintain it (Responsibility). The main event took place on Friday, January 30th, when students visited the exhibition and came together to sing Count on Me by Bruno Mars, highlighting values such as cooperation, respect and positive coexistence.Through this initiative, the school reinforces its commitment to values-based education, a culture of peace and the holistic development of students, which are at the heart of the PYP.Beatriz Álvarez.
