Over the past few weeks, students from 2º de ESO have been working on a very special project in their Spanish Language and Literature classes, in collaboration with the school’s EcoSchool programme, aligned with our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. The project involved creating a Christmas story for younger pupils, focusing on SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13, Climate Action. Throughout the process, students worked through all the stages of book creation: writing the text, drafting, editing, illustrating, colouring and hand-binding the final book. To conclude the project, students from 2º de ESO visited the classrooms of 1º and 2º de Primaria to tell them the story, sharing not only a Christmas tale but also essential values such as caring for the environment, conscious consumption and responsibility towards our planet. This experience has been highly enriching both academically and personally, encouraging creativity, cooperative work and learning between educational stages, and reflecting the values promoted at Colegio Internacional de Aravaca through the EcoSchool programme.Marta Iglesias.
