Roman experience

10-01-2025

From the 1st-year History class, as the final touch to our unforgettable exploration of the Howard Carter Award and Ancient Civilizations, we have invited a former Roman legionary.

From the 1st-year History class, as the final touch to our unforgettable exploration of the Howard Carter Award and Ancient Civilizations, we have invited a former Roman legionary (from the “Legio XIIII Gemina Martia Victrix”) so that the students can understand and experience the feats of an ancient Roman soldier.

The goal is to encourage students’ curiosity about learning by posing many questions such as: How long must a legionary serve in the legion? What is a typical day in the life of a Roman soldier? What has been the toughest battle you have participated in?

We would like to thank the father of the school, Gabriel T., for bringing his Historical Roman Recreation from the association ANTIQUA CLIO with so much enthusiasm, and for sharing such legendary wisdom with our students.

Discovering knowledge through motivation and curiosity creates long-term learning connections. Therefore, I have great confidence that our future archaeologists will not forget “the evolution of civilizations in a specific time, place, and space.”

Thank you,
Tatiana Calvo Andrada
