This October, we have carried out a wide variety of initiatives, some of which have represented important progress, such as expanding the Eco-School Committee with nine additional Secondary students. To achieve this, we organised a breakfast meeting so that interested students could learn what Eco-School is, its purpose, and to give them a warm welcome. To join the committee, students prepared a 30-second speech explaining why they wanted to become members and what ideas they had to contribute. We also invited Year 3 and Year 4 Primary pupils to take part through posters created by our Year 5 students and displayed around the school. The posters announced a comic competition on environmental care. The winners will have the opportunity to join the Eco-School Committee, and the best comics will be exhibited at the school entrance.Additionally, this month we celebrated Climate Day on 24 October, with the interactive workshop Climate Fresk. This activity helps students understand the causes and consequences of climate change through card-based games—allowing them to have fun while learning and reflecting on the topic. Finally, as part of our planned activities to promote awareness around responsible consumption, we organised a Circular Halloween Costume Market. This initiative arose after realising how many costumes are wasted every year when buying new ones and throwing away the old. In this market, children could bring their used costumes or those that no longer fit, and exchange them for another. We are very happy and proud of all the work carried out by our committee!AUTHORS OF THIS AND OTHER ECO-SCHOOL NEWS:Aimar & Santi: Secondary Breakfast MeetingJorge & Jaime: Halloween Costumes – PrimaryMateo & Romero: Climate Fresk – Climate Day (24 October)Hanhan & Cepeda: Primary Comics (Year 3 & Year 4)Daniela, Kate & Minerva: Closing Section
